Companies commonly use CTAs (Call to action buttons) to sell products, promote downloadable PDFs, forms, and very often to redirect visitors to another page.
Call-to-action buttons have two elements that you always need to consider which include: design and copy. Both need to go hand-in-hand to accelerate clicks and conversions.
1- Design: A visual sign that tells users “where to click”.
2- Copy: Helps visitors decide whether to click or not to click.

#1. Contrasting Colors
Businesses often experiment with a variety of colors before nailing down the perfect CTA color for their website.
How do you decide which CTA button color is right for your site? Simple. Choose contrasting colors. This makes sure that your CTA stands out on your website page.
Let’s check out this example from Unbounce for a better understanding.
The result? The green button outperformed blue by 35.81%.
#2. Size Matters
The size of you CTA is important. In fact, it’s more important than the color you pick for your call to action button.
Always keep this in mind: The size of the CTA button should be large enough for the text to be read easily. But, it shouldn’t be so large that it is obstrusive.
The best way is to make your CTA button 20% larger than the logo.
#3. Curvy Buttons are the Best
Most CTA designs are square-shaped buttons or curvy buttons. Typically both designs dominate the website and the app world. But, why Curvy CTA buttons outperform the square buttons? The reasons behind these involves the round corners and is the visual psychology behind it. According to Neuro-aesthetics researchers, rounded corners draw people’s attention to the center of the button; whereas square edges draw attention away from the center.
#4. Beware for the White Space
Always remember the white space or dead space around the call-to-action button, this will help your CTA buttons to stand out from the rest of the page.
#5 Be more Personalized with your Vocabulary
Remember to keep the text short and simple. It has to be easy to digest. No one has the time to read long texts these days. Forget about the old-fashioned words like “ Buy,” “Submit” and “Download.” It’s better to use something more engaging and natural like “Get my promo now” and, if possible, add something unique regarding your service.
